Updated on 17 October 2026 Ajam Dental Clinic, Tripoli

Ajam Dental Clinic is a dental practice on Fouad Chehab Boulevard in Tripoli, in the Al-Makateb Building on the 1st floor. Two dentists, Dr. Abdel Rahman Ajam and Dr. Soumaya Ajam, welcome adults and children from every neighbourhood of the city and from across North Lebanon. You can book a consultation by phone or WhatsApp.

Where to find the clinic

The clinic’s full address is Fouad Chehab Boulevard, Al-Makateb Building, 1st Floor, Tripoli, Lebanon. When you arrive on the boulevard, look for the Al-Makateb Building and go up to the first floor.

If you are coming for the first time and are not sure of the way, call or WhatsApp one of our dentists before you set off and ask for directions from where you are. It is always better to ask than to lose time looking for the building, especially if you are in pain or have a child with you.

If you live further away, it helps to plan your visits in advance. At the consultation, the dentist can explain how many visits your treatment is likely to need, so that you can organise transport and time off work.

Treatments offered at the clinic

The clinic covers everyday dental care as well as more specialised treatments for adults and children. The main areas are:

  • Preventive care: check-ups, scaling (removal of the hardened deposits called tartar) and polishing.
  • Children’s dentistry: all dental care for babies, children and teenagers.
  • Cosmetic dentistry: E.max (lithium disilicate) veneers, composite veneers and bonding, Hollywood smile and teeth whitening.
  • Prosthodontics, the branch of dentistry that repairs and replaces teeth: zirconia and ceramic crowns, bridges, dentures and full-mouth rehabilitation.
  • Root canal treatment and re-treatment, carried out by a visiting specialist endodontist (a dentist who focuses on the inside of the tooth).
  • Oral surgery and extractions, including wisdom teeth.
  • Dental implants to replace missing teeth.

If you are not sure which treatment you need, that is perfectly normal. Describe what you feel or what you would like to change, and the dentist will examine you and explain the options. Before your visit, you can also read our guides to the different types of dental crowns and to dental implants from first consultation to final tooth.

Who you will see

The clinic is run by two dentists, each with a clear area of focus, and works with a visiting specialist for root canal treatment.

Dr. Abdel Rahman Ajam holds a DDS and an MSc in Aesthetic and Prosthetic Dentistry, and graduated from Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth (USJ) in 2024. His focus is prosthodontics and aesthetic dentistry: crowns, veneers, Hollywood smile, bridges, dentures and smile design.

Dr. Soumaya Ajam holds a DDS, a University Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry (USJ, 2024) and a University Diploma in Oral Pathology (USJ, 2023). All dental care for children, from babies to teenagers, is handled by Dr. Soumaya. Her training in oral pathology also covers problems of the soft tissues of the mouth, such as ulcers and other lesions.

Root canal treatment, including the re-treatment of a tooth that was treated before, is carried out at the clinic by a visiting specialist endodontist. You can read more about the clinic and its dentists.

How to book an appointment

Booking is simple and can be done in whichever way suits you best.

  1. Choose how to get in touch: call or send a WhatsApp message to Dr. Abdel Rahman Ajam or Dr. Soumaya Ajam. For a child’s appointment, writing to Dr. Soumaya directly is the natural choice.
  2. Say briefly what the visit is for: a check-up, pain, a broken tooth, a cosmetic question or a second opinion.
  3. Mention anything urgent, such as strong pain or swelling, so that it can be taken into account.
  4. Agree on a day and time, and save the number in case you need to change the appointment.

If you are booking for someone else, for example an elderly parent or a relative who does not use WhatsApp, you are welcome to make the arrangements on their behalf. It helps to mention their main health conditions and the medicines they take, so that the visit can be prepared with them in mind.

All the details are on ourcontact page, with the WhatsApp and phone numbers.

Your first visit, step by step

A first appointment is mainly about listening and examining. It usually follows these steps:

  1. Medical history: questions about your general health, medicines and allergies, because these can affect dental treatment.
  2. Your concerns: what brings you in, what you have noticed and what you would like to achieve.
  3. Examination of the teeth, the gums and the soft tissues of the mouth.
  4. X-rays when needed, to see what the eye cannot, such as decay between teeth or the root of a tooth.
  5. Explanation of the options, including what each one involves and whether waiting is reasonable.

A first consultation often takes around 20 to 40 minutes, depending on what needs to be checked. Nothing is started without your agreement, and you are welcome to ask questions or take time to decide.

If you feel anxious about the dentist, say so at the start. Treatments that could be painful are done under local anaesthesia (numbing of the area being treated), and you can agree on a simple signal, such as raising a hand, to ask for a pause at any moment.

The cost of treatment depends on what you need: the number of teeth involved, the type of treatment and material, the number of visits, and whether extra steps such as X-rays or preparatory care are required. For this reason, no figure can be given before an examination; the dentist will explain the factors in your case at the consultation.

Keeping your teeth healthy between visits

Many dental problems develop quietly, without pain, until they are advanced. Regular check-ups make it possible to find tooth decay and gum disease early, when treatment is usually simpler. Many people are advised to have a check-up every six to twelve months, but the right interval depends on your own mouth, so the dentist may suggest a different rhythm.

  • Brush twice a day for about two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste.
  • Clean between your teeth every day with floss or small interdental brushes.
  • Limit sugary snacks and drinks, especially between meals.
  • Do not ignore bleeding gums, a broken filling or a tooth that is sensitive to hot or cold.

For parents, a first dental visit is usually recommended when the first tooth appears and no later than the first birthday. Our article on your child’s first dental visit explains what happens and how to prepare. And if pain strikes suddenly, our guide on what to do right now with a severe toothache covers the first steps while you arrange an appointment.

Ajam Dental Clinic in Tripoli: a calm next step

Ajam Dental Clinic is a dental practice on Fouad Chehab Boulevard with two dentists and a visiting specialist endodontist. Whether you need a routine check-up, care for your child or advice about a tooth that has been bothering you, the first step is the same: a consultation. Send us a WhatsApp message or call to book your visit.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment, or can I come without one?

It is best to contact the clinic before you come, by phone or WhatsApp. That way a time can be set aside for you, and you avoid waiting or arriving while the dentists are busy with other patients. If you have a problem that cannot wait, such as strong pain, swelling or a broken tooth, say so clearly in your call or message so that the urgency is understood. When you write, a short description of the problem and the times when you are available is enough to get started.

Which number should I message on WhatsApp?

You can use whichever number is easiest for you. As a general guide, write to Dr. Soumaya Ajam for anything concerning a baby, child or teenager, since all children's dental care at the clinic is handled by her. Dr. Abdel Rahman Ajam focuses on crowns, veneers, bridges, dentures and smile design, so he is a natural contact for those questions. For check-ups, general questions or if you are simply unsure, either number is a good starting point, and you will be guided from there.

I live outside the city, in Akkar or Koura. Can my treatment be done in fewer visits?

Some treatments, such as a check-up with scaling, a filling or a simple extraction, can often be completed in one appointment. Others need several visits by nature: a crown usually requires at least two, and an implant is spread over a few months so that the bone can heal around it. Tell the dentist at your first visit that you travel from further away, so that it can be taken into account when your appointments are planned. Healing time, however, cannot be shortened safely.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring a list of the medicines you take, including any blood thinners, and information about medical conditions or allergies. If you have recent dental X-rays or reports from another dentist, bring them too, as they help the dentist understand your history and may avoid repeating examinations. Write down your questions beforehand so that you do not forget them in the chair. For a child, a parent or legal guardian should come along, with any information about the child's health.

Can I find out the cost before agreeing to treatment?

Yes. Prices are not published online because the cost depends on each situation: the number of teeth involved, the type of treatment and material, the number of visits and any preparatory care. After examining you, the dentist explains the options and what influences the cost of each one, so that you can decide with full information. You do not have to start treatment on the day of the consultation if you prefer to take time to think it over or discuss it with your family.

My teeth do not hurt. Is a check-up still useful?

Yes. Tooth decay and gum disease often cause no pain in their early stages, and by the time a tooth hurts, the problem is usually more advanced and the treatment more involved. A check-up allows the dentist to spot early signs, remove tartar that brushing cannot reach and give advice adapted to your mouth. Many adults are advised to come every six to twelve months, and children may need a different rhythm depending on their risk of decay.

Have a question about your teeth?

Send a WhatsApp message to Dr. Abdel Rahman Ajam or Dr. Soumaya Ajam, or call the clinic to book a consultation.
